Pea Puffers, a Fascinating Fish with a Cute Appeal
Reading Time: 1 minute
If you ever have seen a Pea Puffer, they would have made you say “Aww, what a cutie.” Endemic to Southwestern India, they can be found gliding through estuaries (slow moving bodies of water) on a hunt for their next meal. Despite their “I am in charge here” attitude they can be a wonderful choice for a species-only tank. Throughout the day they munch on tasty blackworms, daphnia, or other small and tasty creatures. Their petite size makes them suitable for nano tanks. Breeding Pea Puffers can be challenging as they are an egg scattering fish. We recommend conditioning the breeders with fatty live foods and collecting eggs with an egg trap to increase the likelihood of breeding.
