Picture
Reading Time: 1 minute

Have you ever wished for the perfect aquarium fish? You want it to be peaceful, small, colorful, and hardy. That perfect fish is the Medaka Ricefish, coming in a variety of colors from orange, to platinum, to gold. Famous for its hardiness and ability to thrive in hot or cold water, they originate from Japan where aristocrats took pleasure in breeding different varieties. Recently, many people have realized what a good aquarium fish it is and are now keeping their favorite varieties in their aquarium. They happily eat everything from pellets to live foods, with a preference of live baby brine shrimp and blackworms. This species is an egg layer and is not too hard to breed. A temperature of around 74 degrees with a ratio of 3 or more females per male and lots of live foods is a recipe for success.
